Who we are
Mussels, or moules in French, are highly valuable in water ecosystems, acting as natural filters that remove pollutants, algae, and other particles. They “clean” the water by filtering large volumes of it daily, thus contributing to a healthy aquatic environment. In a similar way, at The Moules, we filter the noise out of the daily lives of companies and staff using a unique process that delivers clarity around organizational and personal authenticity, aspirations, and goals, thereby contributing to a healthy work environment and society.
Across corporate life today, we see three defining failures:
A failure of inspiration — Workplaces make people perform, not come alive.
A failure of meaning — Values sit on the wall, not in the hearts of employees.
A failure of presence — Throughout the workforce, people are too distracted, too reactive, and too anxious to truly listen.
These failures cost organizations millions.
What We’re Seeing at The Moules
Every time we bring a leadership group through the Three Domains Workshop, the same thing happens:
People become more authentic.
Psychological safety rises.
Team cohesion accelerates.
Leaders rediscover purpose.
Employee goodwill surges.
And productivity, the real kind, begins to climb.
The Moules doesn’t motivate people. We inspire them.
We don’t push productivity from the top down — we unlock it from the inside out.
Our Vision
Every employee exists not to serve a corporation first, but to serve the life they long to live.
When workplaces fail to put their people first, ignoring purpose, autonomy, authenticity, mental health, and values… productivity will collapse. It has collapsed.
Yet when corporate purpose aligns with individual purpose — when people feel seen, valued, and inspired to flourish throughout their lives — everything shifts.
A Moules Business
A great business is not one that creates billionaires. but one that creates the very best of human beings. This is the purpose of every institution in a world that is Fiduciary In All Things (FIAT)— putting the values of humanity first in businesses, ahead of their own self-concern.
It’s time we confronted the “nobody likes work” ethos of our times. If work is the place most of us spend most of our waking hours, surely it is time we thought of it differently. Surely it’s time to make our places of work the best of communities, the most humane structures of humanity.
That’s what the Moules does. It seeks to create the best of work environments, places where human beings can flourish. A Moules business doesn’t extract value, but creates it by building human character, by being trustworthy and humane in all that it does. Collaborative, respectful, energized, listening, focused, joyful, engaged, mission-driven, purposeful, flourishing, inspired.
We think too much of our businesses as mechanical, rule-driven, information system, cause and effect entities. But it is far more productive and profitable to think of them as living entities, with each participant listening profoundly and precisely to all that is around them and within, to their fellow employees, to their roles and responsibilities, and to the community in which the business is embedded. Each of us is like leaves on a tree, or cells within a body, contributing to the whole through the quality of our listening and the energy and spirit of our flourishing. Listening, among other purposes, so that the company can excel in its purposes, so that it can flourish and lead. It is their listening and flourishing that guarantees a business will thrive.
Our Trainers
George Kinder
FOUNDER
George Kinder is known globally for revolutionizing the delivery of financial advice by putting the client first, rather than the money. What Kinder discovered was that when you deliver freedom and self-knowledge through great listening—energy, efficiency, and satisfaction go through the roof—completely transforming financial and productivity paradigms.
With The Moules, in a similar way his aim is to revolutionize the way business is conducted by putting the people ahead of the business’s own self concern. Using similar interior methodologies to those he pioneered in financial advice, he aims to make each employee a microcosm of the business. Their self-knowledge will drive new efficiencies throughout the organization.
